Harvey Hamer

Hi, my name's Harvey Hamer.

I’m a writer working across a range of mediums.

I’m a big fan of large sci-fi/fantasy universes with complicated timelines, as well as our own Earth’s history and mythologies. And that’s what I write too! Whether in novels, comics, poems or screenplays, I love to blend genre concepts with ancient history.

You may know me as a contributor to Star Wars Insider, or for my work based on DanTDM’s worlds, but I’ve also contributed to many more sites, zines and anthologies, and am currently developing several short films, comics and a novel!

I began self-publishing my Diamond Dimensions Universe of thirty books at age twelve. I wrote my first partially produced play at age fourteen, and in the sixth form provided skits for our year’s talent show and co-wrote and edited an outdoor play based on an Amazonian fairy tale. Studying screenwriting at MetFilm School in London furthered my dedication to the craft of writing, gave me the confidence to write with cinematic pace and scope and taught me the value of creative collaboration.

My debut byline was as the youngest contributor to Star Wars Insider in 2024. That year, I was commended by the Wilbur Smith Adventure Writing Author of Tomorrow Prize, had an award-winning pilot script on Coverfly and was longlisted for Adventures in Fiction’s Spotlight First Novel Award. My comics debut “RISE & FALL” was a one-page exploration of infinity in WIP Comics’ Broken Frontier Award-nominated 2025 anthology. My short story Metamorphosis was shortlisted for Station Book’s Short Story Competition in 2026.

Growing up around the Medway Megaliths in South East England, my formative years were spent amongst old stones. I’ve studied at the British Museum, worked on a variety of archaeological sites and volunteer with English Heritage. Reading old tomes from the archives, digging in the cave with the oldest art in the UK and giving tours of a Roman villa have informed my writing in many ways. I’m constantly inspired by artists of all sorts, from the earliest cave painters to modern singer-songwriters.
